Wednesday at Takoma Station
Takoma Station, 6914 4th St NW, Washington, DC 20012

Cookie, Tracy, and Angie were there.

Familiar Faces
First Set
1) Instrumental
Mike said on Wednesdays my Verizon family is here, I love to see you here, but hate to see you at work.
2) Mike-led Bernard Ighner's Everything Must Change - Mike said, "It takes a lot more energy to hate than to love." / Halima said, "Good evening.", she used the same mic that Mike had used / Halima-led Rogers & Hart's My Funny Valentine
They both were nice performances and complemented each other
The crank started with
3) Mike-led Stevie Wonder's Golden Lady
4) Mike-led Marvin Gaye's I Want You
5) Mike-led Anthony Hamilton's Since I Seen't You
Halima had a monologue with the women in the audience.
6) Halima-led Fantasia's Free Yourself - excellent as usual
7) Mike-led John Legend's Ordinary People

Stacey, Shawn, Tim (LJ), Ray, Sanisse, Tasty, Robin, Tamara, RE Angie, and Darrell were there.

I went outside, Doc, Dwayne, Lorenzo, and Mike went to "the store" (the convenience store at the gas station at the corner). I talked with Stomp. He introduced me to his friend Chris Wright, the 19-year old keyboard player for Suttle Thoughts. Chris knew who I was already and recognized me from attending his performance as a member of Mambo Sauce. Tony, the security guard, told a couple of guys about my website and asked me how long I had been doing the blog. The other guys came back from "the store". Doc asked me about the Bootsy meditation CD I emailed him about. They joked about what the CD would consist of. They talked about the Showplace show that Duane Face had posted about on the TMOTT board, that he had said was the GoGo he saw the most white people at ever. I told them about some of the posts and what Godfather's Korean co-worker said about haters. They talked about 70% of the purchasers of Rap being white, that you need the white audience to go national.

Doc talked about someone seeing rats. He said there was a family of rats that lived behind the dumpster across the street. Lorenzo talked about seeing one that was as big as a cat at the Ibex.

Before the second set started, Mike said the DJ music should be more old school: Black Ivory, Mandrill, and Ray, Goodman & Brown.

Keta and Nita were there.

Second Set
Donnell said they were really going to put on a show at the Fur on September 4th. "Halima already has already bought her gown and Mike his tuxedo."
Mike said his tuxedo had a matching bandana and that he may wear prom shoes.
Donnell then talked about the three sopranos show on August 31st - Kimese from Suttle Thoughts, Yannie from the L!ssen Band and Halima.
Donnell said, "Me and Mike will just sit down and shut up."
The crank started right away
