Mango's Tropical Cafe, 900 Ocean Dr Miami Beach, FL 33139
At midnight, I went with Donnell, Nephew, Black Heart, 02, Los, Tata, Mara, Shaun, and Donnell Jr. to Mango's. It was just a few blocks walk. While you wait, they have waitresses who come outside in outfits like bikinis (but with shorts rather than the typical bikini bottom).
Mango's is known for having dancers on the bar. We walked in and three women danced on the bar. Unfortunately, not all of the dancers are female. They don't all dance on the bar, either. There were both professionals and guests dancing in the aisles as well.
6'9 and Nikiya were at one of the bars as we walked in. We got a table, then a number of the people from our table left. I noticed a guy video taping from outside through the exit door behind us. RE Angie later joined our table. There were video monitors to see dancers in the Vodou room - I thought it was kind of lame actually.
A Latin band performed - 02 said they could keep a pocket and checked them out. There were signs on all the walls that had printed: "1 drink minimum per musical set." I thought that was kind of bizarre, especially given the cover and the fact that it was hard to distinguish the musical sets from each other.
There were different cycles of dancers - including a woman with a white plumed feather outfit and bikini. Nephew bought me one of the vial shots: the waitress held a cherry implaed on a mini-umbrella with the umbrella end in her mouth. I ate the cherry, but refused the alcohol. The waitress inserted the vial of vodka in her mouth and played with putting the open end in his mouth. Then she got much closer to his mouth with the vial of Rum.
DeeDee, Michelle, and Marcus Smith sat down at another table nearby. DeeDee danced over by our table and a woman from the next table eyed her - I think she thought that DeeDee was a pro rather than a guest. I left at 1:30 AM because I was bored and because I didn't want to make my friend Chris have to stay up too late for me.
