Summer 2004 and Beyond: Going to the GoGo
Sunday, 3 July 2005
Saturday at Tradewinds
Tradewinds Night Club, 5859 Allentown Way, Camp Springs, MD 20748

I went in and ate, 6'9 sat down with me. Ray came by and said hello to both of us.

Familiar Faces
First Set
James and Charlie were there from the start
Tracy and Angie danced over by me. Angie was trying to get me to dance more. The same woman as last week (KD) was again mocking my head bobbing. What they don't realize is that I learned to dance from these two guys:

1) Mike-led Marvin Gaye's I Want You
2) Mike-led Anthony Hamilton's Since I Seen't You
3) Mike-led Toto's Georgy Porgy
4) Donnell-led "Hey ay, Ho oh"
5) Donnell-led "Do it for the ladies/fellas, Oh my God!"
6) Mike-led Bobby Valentino's Slow Down
7) Halima-led Erykah Badu's Cleva - with a really long intro
8) Mike-led John Legend's Used to Love U
9) Donnell-led Ludacris' Number One Spot - Donnell added the line "Bounce, bounce"
10) Halima-led Fantasia's Free Yourself
During this song Angie had me swaying back and forth.

RE Angie, Mama Chelle, March, Nita, Tasty, and Renee were there. Mark (I think) said that I must know something about the food since I never eat. I told them how I don't perform, so I am not going to take their food. One of the cooks? said I look Italian, I should like some pasta. Doc said I'm not Italian, the cook said Greek, he'd like a steak and cheese. They also discussed the Rare Essence remix of Ludacris' Pimpin' All Over the World; that it works because of the simple beats.

Second Set
1) Halima-led Faith Evans' Mesmerized
2) Donnell-led "Tired yet, ready to quit?"
3) Halima-led Faith Evans' Again
4) Alternating Donnell-led Trillville's Some Cut - Donnell said, "I thought we was a runaway train, right before we crash, we hit the brake." Donnell yelled to turn the house lights on because there was a fight. Slim Goodie asked me if I was going to write that. Donnell said, "We've had twenty, thirty weeks without fights, I don't know what the problem is." Donnell said something about Quisette / Notorious BIG's Warning / "Wait a Minute" echoes / Keith Murray's Call My Name (tease)
5) Donnell-led "uh ah ___"
6) Donnell-led Tupac's Hail Mary (tease)
7) Mike-led Prince's Take Me With You
8) Donnell-led Hold the Note
9) Donnell-led Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl (tease)
10) Donnell-led Rare Essence's All Da Time "aya awa-a"
11) Mike-led Rare Essence's Lock It / Donnell-led Sam Cooke's Chain Gang
12) Donnell-led Miss Keta Will You Dance for Me
A girl named Shaadi danced with Mike, then had Donnell resume Miss Keta so she could dance for him
13) Mike-led Michael Jackson's I Can't Help It
Jessica pulled me over to March, whom I grinded with for a bit during the set. Later, the woman who mocked my head bobbing (KD) danced with me and she actually told 6'9 to leave me alone. Yvette was there.
