I attended the

Folklife Field School in Salisbury and Crisfield, MD. You can find articles
on it by the
AP and the
Somerset
Herald. Folklore has been a life-long pursuit of mine; I have been studying
it in depth for eight years. I have previously worked both in the entertainment
industry (as an accountant and in music licensing) and the healthcare industry
(as an accountant). I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University
of Maryland and am a former CPA.
I have interned at
Pandisc Music Corp. Subsequently, I worked
for
Rhino Entertainment (originally as an
intern) and its sister company,
Warner Special
Products. A sampling of the projects I worked on at Rhino includes:
Glory B Da’ Funk’s On
Me: The Bootsy Collins Anthology,
The Jam: The Larry
Graham & Graham Central Station Anthology,
Hotcakes &
Outtakes: 30 Years Of Little Feat,
Chitlin' Circuit Soul!
The Best Of Today's Southern Blues,
Nuggets II: Original
Artyfacts From The British Empire & Beyond, and
Rhapsodies In Black:
Music And Words From The Harlem Renaissance.
This website is a
constant work-in-progress, as my skills and knowledge expand, so does this site.
My primary interests are Folklore, Funk & Funky Jazz, Blaxploitation movies,
and African-American studies. This site is devoted to those interests.

College Athletics - A Myth?
My two favorite team sports are men's college basketball and
college football. These sports are big revenue generators. I have heard through
the news and word of mouth of how many of the "student-athletes" are not really
students, which is unfortunate. Therefore many sports "talking heads" have
suggested ending the myth, and just making the athletes professionals (and not
students at all). However, personally I think if the myth were ended, I and many
others would not be as big fans of college athletics, as they would not be much
different from their (already-existing) professional equivalents. Therefore, I
say, keep the myth!
